Who’s behind this, and how we work.
Solara is a small, senior-led practice. This page says who founded it, how an engagement runs, and what we are careful never to claim.
The founder
Allan Smeyatsky
Thirty years delivering systems for Fortune 500 enterprises, across more than 300 client engagements. Around 25 years of that in telecoms. Allan formerly led a Google Cloud platform modernisation practice of around 800 people, and was named a 2024 Google Cloud Partner All-Star for Solutions Engineering.
Eleven Google Cloud certifications, plus the AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification. Allan works in forward-deployed mode: shipping a working outcome in the client’s own environment, not handing over a reference architecture and moving on. Based in Cape Town and the UK, working with clients globally.
How Solara works
A short assessment, then a fixed plan.
Assessment first
A short, scoped assessment before anything is proposed, so a plan is built on what your systems actually do, not a template.
A fixed plan
The assessment produces a fixed plan with a fixed outcome: senior-led throughout, not handed to a bench once it is sold.
Security and honesty first
We tell you what is live and what is not. Delivery partners in Europe and India extend capacity on larger engagements.
Mission and trajectory
Agents can't trust each other yet. We're building the layer that lets them.
Solara Associates Ltd (UK, company number 17479688) builds trust infrastructure for multi-agent systems. SYNTHERA is our first product, and VAID, the open standard for verifiable agent identity, is the primitive underneath it. More products build on the same foundation.
Docker
Took a messy problem, how to ship software, and turned it into a standard unit anyone could verify. VAID does that for agent identity.
Kubernetes
Grew around the primitive once it was portable. The same shape is emerging here, in the foundation and the tenants built on it.
CNCF
The standard eventually moved to neutral stewardship, so no single vendor owned it. We build with the same handover in mind.
Direction, not commitment. What's fixed is the destination: a trust layer the whole ecosystem can rely on because no one party owns it.
What we do not claim
Said plainly, so there is nothing to find out later.
- We do not claim customers we do not have.
- We do not claim certifications we do not hold.
- We do not claim product capabilities that are still in build.
SYNTHERA is the trust layer for multi-agent systems: every agent gets a verifiable identity, scoped authority and a tamper-evident record, so software from different teams, vendors and frameworks can act on each other’s behalf without custom glue between every pair.
